I just completed my first week as the new Rails Support Engineer for Ninefold, a Rails hosting company. This is the perfect position for me to become more technical while doing something I love: helping and teaching people. I wasn't looking for a new gig but I met one of my future coworkers at my favorite meetup: Women Who Code SF. She announced they had a new position available and I was intrigued since I had recently finished my Rails apprenticeship at Bloc.io. I have a lot to learn and I know how I learn best. I need to immerse myself in a subject in order to learn skills quickly.
I loved my stint at Readyforce. My time there made me a better marketer, ignited my love of hackathons and taught me that everything, and I mean everything, can be managed by a funnel. I'm proud of the impact that I made there and truly believe that Readyforce is going to be big. My coworkers took me in when I was new to this crazy wonderful city. I'm glad that we will continue to stay in touch.
As part of my training at Ninefold, I will be headed to Austrailia, the main headquarters, in the next month. I can't wait to get to know my new colleagues while seeing all of the sites that Sydney has to offer. If you have any advice on what I need to see or do in Sydney, please comment below!
Thank you to everyone who has supported, celebrated and encouraged me in my career. I'm so lucky to have such a supportive network. While I don't know what my ultimate career goal is, I've grown at each company that has taken a chance on me.
